Head of Procurement & ICM

With passion and joy you will lead a team of 20 professionals as Head of Procurement at Essent, where you'll drive innovation and find solutions for a dynamic market. Continuously develop your team and strategy, and interface with top management. With strong stakeholder management, you'll be responsible for claims management, contract drafting, and ensuring compliance with regulations. With the mindset of a team player, and the determination of a true entrepreneur, your role as Head of Procurement & ICM involves taking responsibility for:

• Ensuring compliance with E.ON Group standards and policies
• Ensuring regulations and obligations are implemented and followed by Essent affiliates and local procurement units
• Defining strategic and operational purchasing policies for services and materials in agreement with management
• Defining purchase budget and achieving savings and value objectives
• Leading the development and execution of international procurement strategy with a focus on quality, capacity and end-to-end cost efficiency of B2C offering
• Continuously sourcing and evaluating suppliers, monitoring performance, and conducting periodic reviews
• Negotiating purchase offers, renewals and contract additions, optimizing total cost and improving service quality and efficiency
• Acting as a partner for internal customers and businesses
• Collaborating with internal functions to identify new opportunities and open competitive channels
• Supporting and coordinating strategic purchasing, outsourcing and insourcing projects
• Enduring further development of personal and functional skills of your team members

This role requires an individual who is able to lead and manage a team, as well as develop and execute procurement strategies in a dynamic market environment. Strong analytical skills, contract management and negotiation experience, and understanding of the Dutch energy market and supplier markets are necessary for success in this role. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have experience in leading teams, managing change, and have strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

The formal education / professional experience required for the job include:

• Relevant academic degree
• International experience in similar sector
• At least 10 years experience in similar roles in related fields
• At least 5 years of professional experience in leading teams
• High level of communication skills and negotiation skills
• Demonstrable experience on contract and cost management
• Strong category and strategic sourcing experiences
• Understanding of Dutch energy market and knowledge of supplier markets

The competencies / other qualifications required for the job include:

• Expert skills in contract management and negotiation
• Highly developed analytical skills in combination with project management competencies
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• People management experience in intercultural environments
• Assertiveness, tolerance to stress, resilience
• Fluent in English, Dutch is preferred
