Setting the standards for worldwide data governance

We seek an enthusiastic Product Owner with passion for data, finance and risk to ensure that compliance to all regulatory and risk demands is well implemented and key control test are executed within expected timelines and with expected quality. You will translate the demands in a clear delivery plan with milestones, managing the impediments and risks with the involved Products Owners and stakeholders. The Product Owner will report on the performance of our regulatory objectives and key results in the Obeya room and be a step ahead in advising the Chief Data Officer (CDO) on next steps. You work in a complex stakeholder environment of data owners and data users within different Tribes in Belgium and the Netherlands and with risk and compliance officers within Belgium and the Netherlands and with ING Group departments. 

You will work in a newly formed multidisciplinary cross-border team (‘squad’) with other Finance- and Risk Experts and Experts in the Regulatory field. You will work closely together with the cross-border CDO Office squad with Data Governance Officers and Data Quality specialists to deliver great business outcome.

Your key responsibilities

You will work as a Product Owner of the squad and next to that you work on the content as a Finance, Risk and/or Regulatory Expert.
 

As a Product Owner:

• You develop together with your squad and Tribe Lead Data Management the strategy and roadmap for the Tribes in BE and NL to ensure compliance to and implementation of all regulatory and risk demands and the execution of key control tests.
• You collaborate with other tribes and squads by involving them in the delivery strategy and goals for compliancy, transforming regulatory needs into actionable plan.
• You create the overview of regulatory epics, finance or risk related, like BCBS239, DGS, Tax on Banking, SoX, and GDPR.
• You prioritise the product backlog by defining the roadmap in Quarterly Business Reviews, by aligning in 'Marketplaces' with senior management and other Product Owners of the Tribe and by aligning with the several stakeholders. 
• You collaborate closely with other Product Owners, business and IT stakeholders in order to gather the Finance, Risk and Regulatory requirements ING needs to comply with.
• Managing the dependencies and impediments of the delivery, mitigating risks are the backbone of your job.
• You will be reporting on the performance of quarterly regulatory objectives and key results in the Obeya room.
• You will be a step ahead in advising the Tribe Lead/CDO on mitigation actions and next steps.
• You support and coach others on Data Management and stimulate the organisation to grow towards a ‘data driven’ organisation.

As a Finance, Risk and/or Regulatory Expert:

• You will translate new Finance, Risk and Regulatory requirements into requirements for the tribes in BE and NL.
• You will connect the various tribes and squads involved in order to create focus enabling the tribes and squads to organise their work and set the right priorities.
• You will create insights and report on progress, impediments and mitigation actions to CDO and senior leadership team.
• You seek for opportunities to accelerate, standardise or automate to enable compliancy by design.

Important competencies in this role:

• Knowledge and expertise of project management and reporting
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to be able to align with various stakeholders on various levels
• Understanding of business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets
• Knowledge and expertise of Finance, Credit Risk, Regulatory processes and Operational Risk
