Who will lead the Embedded System development of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Powertrain Systems at DAF Trucks

Within the Embedded Engineering department, part of PACCAR Global Powertrain, we are looking for a talented Embedded System Owner. In this role you will play a key part in leading the hardware and software development of the Electric Powertrain Controller as part of future electric powertrains. This Electric Powertrain Controller coordinate amongst others the vehicle torque arbitration, charge control and vehicle thermal management of future Battery Electric PACCAR Vehicles.

Your responsibilities:

• Coordinating hardware & software development activities for your Embedded System
• Initiate and define risk analysis and validation plans for both hardware and software components
• Create, monitor and report platform project plans for software and hardware development activities
• Supplier management
• Monitoring if technical definitions are in line with defined strategies and report discrepancies
• Presenting and reporting project status for Quality, Cost, Timing and Performance (QCTP)
• Organizing and participating in supplier & internal project meetings

The Embedded System Owner reports to the Engineering Supervisor EE System Engineering with respect to process, quality and to the corresponding Project Lead Engineer for project status.

Functie-eisen

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor or a Master Degree in Automotive/Embedded Engineering or equivalent with at least 3 year experience in a coordinating role, multiple years experience in project lead role is an asset
• 3 years experience with Control System Development
• Experience with supplier management
• Team player, pro-active, strong analytical skills, problem solving attitude
• Knowledge of design for Six Sigma methodology
• Knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO26262)
• Knowledge of embedded system design processes (according the V-cycle)
• Good English skills are mandatory combined with Dutch (or at least willingness to learn Dutch)

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

Contract through Yacht of at least 1 year, we follow the salary chart of DAF Trucks. For this position the salary range depends on highest earned degree and years of experience. The range is between € 3.400,- upto max € 4.940,- gross per month based on 36 hours a week (excluding holiday allowance of 8.33%). 37.5 hour work week.

Yacht also has benefits as a home office budget of € 750,- and annually a budget of € 3.500,- for following courses to further develop in your career.

You will be part of an experienced international team of the Platform Development group of DAF Embedded Engineering that is located in our modern new office in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Embedded Engineering has over 160 highly skilled people today. Together they deliver world class engineering in the domains of engine controllers and vehicle controllers.

Next to that, focusing on common software development, Embedded Engineering works closely together with PACCAR Embedded Engineering located in Renton (near Seattle), the USA.

The products developed within Embedded Engineering are applied on DAF trucks but also in the famous PACCAR brands Kenworth and Peterbilt. Through component sales our products are used by leading bus and coach manufacturers.
