Pilot plant operator

We are currently recruiting for the position of Pilot Operator at our Research & Technology (R&T) department in Geleen. It is crucial for Fibrant to improve and further develop our technology to deliver high-end sustainable solutions to our customers. Our global Research & Technology group steers the development of caprolactam technology and supports our production sites in the Netherlands and China. We are looking for a Pilot Operator to be part of the R&T group to focus on the development of our chemical recycling technology to convert nylon applications such as textile, carpet and packaging back to the pure raw materials. As a Pilot Operator, you will be part of a dynamic team consisting of chemists, technicians and chemical engineers. This team focuses on delivering a future-proof technology for the chemical recycling of nylon-6 containing waste. With your flexible and hands-on attitude you will run and further develop our pilot process, and contribute to the improvement of our chemical recycling process.

Your key responsibilities

✔ You will run and improve the pilot plant in a safe and reproducible way.
✔ You will work in a shift schedule, which can consist of continuous shifts from Monday to Friday.
✔ You will help to set-up and improve work procedures and instructions to allow safe and stable tests.
✔ You report deviations and propose improvements to increase the reliability and safety of the equipment.
✔ Troubleshooting: you will solve practical issues to ensure maximal up-time of the equipment.
✔ You will perform small maintenance actions and guide external partners for larger maintenance work.
✔ You will generate operational expertise and train your colleagues.
✔ You will work in a dedicated team and report the observations and generated results to the project manager.

Our ideal candidate:

✔ Is passionate about sustainability and willing to take responsibility.
✔ Has a Vapro C or D degree with at least 2 years experience, or a Professional Bachelor in Process Technology
✔ Communicates pro-actively about issues, results, opportunities and threats, and is able to do so in English.
✔ Has affinity for software and digital control, and an analytical mindset with a pragmatic mentality.
✔ Is stress resistant so appropriate actions can be taken swiftly in case of process hick-ups.
✔ Is a team player that is able to deliver results based on timeline and objectives.
✔ Thrives in a multicultural environment and enjoys to cooperate with people from different disciplines.
