Aurora is looking for an experienced
IT Infrastructure Technician
in our team of circa 20 staff in Spain and 4 in the Netherlands supporting SITU. The post holder will report directly to the Infrastructure and Operations Work Area Manager.

Main responsibilities

Monitor and react to events on the Datacentre IT Assets.

Effective incident queue management with ownership of logged incidents via current call logging toolsets (Service Now).

Prioritize ticket resolution workload on predefined Service Level Agreements.

Provide technical support for resolution of customer IT problems, incidents, issues, requests and queries.

Perform upgrade on the Datacenter IT Assets.

Deployment of end user Linux workstations.

IT support for events such as new joiner inductions and VIP meetings when required.

Working effectively with required external suppliers who are used to deliver components of our service, such as server provisioning, replacement parts, etc.

Regularly review processes utilized within the team, propose and implement improvements with necessary approvals to ensure processes remain relevant for the Local Support team.

Ensure proper documentation, notification, escalation, tracking and follow up of all incidents.

Liaise with other support teams, or product teams as required to resolve requests/issues in a timely manner.

Specific qualification requirements

Good level of English.

RedHat Enterprise Linux (versions 7, 8 and 9).

Ubuntu.

Management of Data Center Physical Assets (Servers, Switches, networking components)

Monitoring tools such Zabbix.

Service Now.

Jira and Confluence.

  • Windows Server would be an asset
  • Expertise on the following technologies would be desirable:
  • F5 Load balancers
  • NetApp OnTAP
  • Dell Isilon
  • VMware (vcenter)
  • Cisco
  • Puppet
  • Ansible

Legal and Security Requirements

  • All applicants must be legally allowed to work in Spain without the need to obtain a work visa.

Only European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) and SWISS 

citizens can be employed by Aurora in Spain.

  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA.
  • In line with ESA’s security requirements, prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident, and Aurora will validate your employment history.

Location

The work will be performed at the
, the European Space Astronomy Centre at Villafranca del Castillo, near Madrid (Spain).

Contract

  • The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line with management responsibility.
  • You will be registered for both social security and tax in Spain.
  • The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
  • In addition to public health services Aurora provides private medical insurance in Spain.
  • Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included.
