Are you the senior IFRS reporting specialist for the Accounting & Reporting department at our client? You will be responsible for setting the accounting guidance for new developments in the company, the writing of the accounting position papers and discussions with their auditor, and the analysis of quarterly IFRS results. You understand complex financial transactions, the related accounting implications as well as the insurance business. This position offers a unique opportunity for career development.

As an IFRS reporting specialist, you
  • set standards and guidance for the accounting implications of the developments in the company and complex financial transactions and document in accounting position papers
  • are a bridge between multiple domains to help drive the organizations strategic initiatives (like new investments, acquisitions or other developments)
  • act as sparring partner on complex, financial material and strategic subjects towards external stakeholders (e.g. theirexternal accountant)
  • play a key role in the analysis of the quarterly financial results, together with the accounting and reporting department and the actuaries
  • Knowledge of Solvency II is an advantage

Technical Knowledge and skills required:
  • Qualified Accounting professional with at least 8 years of experience in IFRS accounting/ auditing at a financial services company; previous insurance or Big 4 experience is an advantage
  • Extended knowledge of IFRS standards, especially on IFRS 17 and other IFRS standards.
  • Knowledge of Solvency II is an advantage

Personal capabilities required:
  • Strong team player who collaborates easily and effectively across functions and with internal stakeholders, involving technical experts
  • Independent minded. Credible in front of internal teams and external stakeholders like the auditor. Confidence to voice opinions and provide constructive challenge, able to convince others and make them part of the solution
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills. Verbal, written and listening – English and preferably also in Dutch
