Your responsibilities:

As the holder of this position, you will teach in the department's degree programs corresponding to your profile, in particular in the Bachelor of Social Work.

You will impart legal knowledge for social work, particularly the basic structure of German law. You will support student’s understanding of legal contexts and how they can be used in the fields of social work in Germany through practical and application-oriented teaching. Ideally, you will focus your interdisciplinary training on cross-cutting issues in social work such as poverty, migration, racism, disability, gender or age and impart understanding of the law in a social and political context as well as an emancipatory instrument.

The ability to teach in German is a prerequisite.

Your profile:

You have

• a completed first German state examination in law (or a comparable European university degree);
• a qualified doctorate, preferably in one of the key areas listed below.
• In-depth and practice-oriented knowledge related to social work in Germany is highly desirable, preferably in media and communications law or in one of the following areas: Criminal law/criminology, family law or social law, sustainable development law.

In addition to the application documents listed below, we ask you to present a ‘teaching and research concept’ that outlines your ideas and visions for teaching and research in relation to the requirements of the position.

The position is available for an unlimited period of time. When first appointed to a professorship, employment is initially on a probationary civil service basis or on a permanent employment basis with a three-year probationary period.
