Financial Accountant

What are you going to do
For our client, a commercial real estate developer, we are looking for a Financial Accountant. In the role of Financial Accountant you will be working in a team of 3. Among other things, you will be responsible for different accounting tasks for all Dutch entities (15), filing of tax returns, managing of intercompany loans and reporting data packages needed for the group consolidation.

You will be part of our Dutch Finance team based in Amsterdam in which you will have a lot of room for self-development. You will be reporting directly to the CFO of the Netherlands.

Your tasks and responsibilities
  • Preparing and monitoring budget requests and purchase orders
  • Budget analysis and reporting
  • Service charge reconciliation
  • Analyze current performance against budget and forecast future expectations
  • Analyze on current and past trends of performance indicators such as revenue and operating expenses
  • Processing ledger transactions, bank statements, payments and invoices
  • Performing various checks on the ledger accounts
  • Assist in preparing weekly cash flow statements
  • Responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting standards (mostly Dutch GAAP)
  • Coordinate entity tax (VAT/CIT) return(s)
  • Helping with various ad-hoc requests
Your profile
  • You have a positive and entrepreneurial mindset
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • You have 2-5 years of accounting/finance experience, experience with controlling is a plus
  • Real estate experience is a plus, especially experience with service charges for real estate objects
  • You have knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliation and VAT
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You have the ability of keeping your head cool under time pressure
  • You have strong English language skills, both verbally and in writing, fluency in Dutch is a plus
Your offer
  • Salary of €47.000 - €52.000 on an annual basis, depending on your education and previous work experience
  • Full-time position at the Amsterdam office with flexibility to work from home
