Petbnb is a platform that has helped connect thousands of dog owners with trusted local dog lovers who want to look after their dog. We make it easy to book dog walking, doggy day care and dog boarding whenever it’s needed.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join our Product and Engineering Team, to work with our existing team on building a fast and world-class backend.

You will develop and launch secure services using RESTful services and GraphQL and ensure that these are robust and easy to maintain.
Our product team is multidisciplinary with design, frontend and backend engineering combined. We are passionate about building highly scalable, reliable, high performance products.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of PHP development experience.
• Comfortable building web APIs.
• Strong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions
• You write well-structured, efficient and maintainable code and actively keep the quality of the code base in check.
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, cloud environments (GCP, AWS, etc.) a plus.
• Solid MySQL, Linux, Shell scripting.
• You are effective at communicating design/engineering trade-offs to product managers and designers.
• Strong Symfony / Laravel framework experience.
• Contributions to the open source community are a plus
