As the local Financial Controller you play a pivotal role in supporting the Global R&D Controlling team and company’s CEO at Acerta Pharma BV in all finance related matters.

You are a key player in the R&D Controlling team, as a team we are on a journey of standardising support models across legal entities, ensuring consistency in processes and reporting. With a focus on excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvements, we are looking for a talented finance professional to join our team in Oss.

Financial Controller

What will you be doing?

In addition to supporting our local team in all finance related matters you will be collaborating with the Global R&D Controlling team. You will contribute to the standardisation of processes and reporting across R&D legal entities. This role includes diverse responsibilities, with main focus on local tax support and day to day financial activities, as well as participation in statutory group reporting, data management, entity forecasting, and year-end statutory reporting. You will be the first point of contact for auditors, tax teams, and various stakeholders, ensuring financial controls, compliance and process standardisation. In addition:

• Act as a financial reporting expert for the Netherlands, ensuring compliance with Dutch GAAP and IFRS requirements. Partner with HR on payroll activities. 
• Ensure capex reporting for both IFRS and Dutch GAAP, supporting the month-end reporting process.
• Support the preparation of Local Financial Statements and liaise with P2P, R2R, GFS and other support functions within the AstraZeneca Group.
• Act as a subject matter expert and contact point for external service providers in the Direct and Indirect Tax areas.
• Maintain and review systems set up for tax code compliance in the Netherlands.
• Provide support and sign of for quarterly CIT and Deferred Tax calculations for reporting purposes.
• Ensure compliance with the financial control framework and SOX requirements.
• Support processes standardisation initiatives and actively participate in forecasting activities support both tax and treasury departments.

What do you bring?

As a driven finance professional you enjoy getting things organised. You are used to working in a structured, complex matrix organisation and bring excellent communication skills, able to communicate at all levels. In addition:

• At least educated at Bachelor level with a minimum of 7 years relevant working experience.
• Experience in accounting, tax, reporting and financial analysis.
• In-depth knowledge of Dutch GAAP requirements and Dutch tax regulations, IFRS and management accounting. 
• Excellent technical financial skills.
• IT literate, proficient working with accounting systems and Excel.
• Fluent in English (must) and a good understanding of the Dutch language both written & spoken.
• Competences: analytical, attention to detail, proactive, solution driven and you are able to see the bigger picture.
