Job description
Dynamic Positioning (DP) is a computer-controlled system to automatically maintain a vessel's position and heading by using propellers and thrusters. Our “Dynamic Positioning System” is mainly a software-based system that runs on our own hardware. We are constantly working to further develop the system.We are looking for a project engineer to join our Dynamic Positioning team. You will work together with the sales, production and innovation departments and report to the Project Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
- Project management and engineering from specification to delivery and sea-trials
- Daily interaction with colleagues from sales, drawing, production and innovation departments
- Communicating with customers about project specific details
- Addressing challenges that might arise during the project
- Generating project specific documentation like drawings and protocols
- Hardware and software configuration and testing for each system
- Organizing the factory acceptance test (FAT) together with the classification society and the customer
- Commissioning of the systems remote or on site
- After sales and customer support
- Supporting the development of the Dynamic Positioning system in all aspects
We are looking for
- Technical bachelor’s degree, preferably in automation, electrical engineering or automotive
- A beginner or someone with several years of relevant work experience
- Experience in developing and maintaining good relationships with clients is a plus
- Affinity with automation, mathematics, physics and programming
- Customer oriented attitude
- Good communication skills
- Ability to travel abroad
- Good analytical skills
- Team player and a positive attitude
