Introduction:

In this role you will work as part of a team of application engineer specialists, focusing on the design and implementation of technical solutions in support of customer needs (in- and outside of IT).

You will develop the roadmap of a new product / system, oversee the whole system in terms of time, costs and quality. You will lead more than one team and coaching colleagues, co-design solutions and review the quality. You will advise solutions based on understanding of the business and the business objectives. You know and apply best practices in the industry.

Requirements

• Relevant Master degree in engineering (e.g. information technology, computer science, or other), with broad and deep work experience in IT applications development.
• Broad and extensive knowledge and experience within SAP PPM.
• Solid experience with technical leadership role a in application development projects.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a roadmap, ensure data features are prioritized appropriately.
• Ensure that estimates are reliable, benefits can be realized, and design activities are proactively tracked and monitored to meet planned time frames and the overall architecture plan.
• Elicit complex business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
• Align conflicting requirements between teams.
• Maintain technical relationship with supplier on operational and architectural level.
• Document the most complex “as is” and “to be” processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the “to be” capability to record accurately the change required.
• Lead a collaborative digital product/service design process by gathering input across all product/service portfolios to define a design system that is viable and scalable.
• Lead a cross-portfolio, multidisciplinary team that contributes to the evolution of the system. Is unbiased for solutioning.
• Direct and oversee engineering developments and maintenance to ensure business requirements can be met.
• (Co-) develop solutions in line with industry best practices and compliant with policies. Pick up and shape new topics outside their knowledge area and keep a large group at work.
• Plan and lead solution tests and supervise monitoring, diagnosing, and correcting of issues.
• Define complex control measures on Information Security (e.g., encryption), Data Management (build, maintain and govern the liability of the trusted dataset), Business Continuity (e.g., back-up recovery) and Regulatory Compliancy (e.g., co-define criteria for privacy, retention, SOX).
• Co-responsible with Security Experts to mitigate security risks or problems, from an integral (architectural) perspective.
• Coach colleagues in developing solutions in line with industry best practices and compliant with policies.
• Act as mentor towards more junior colleagues and contributes to competence development.
• Responsible for peer reviews, co-development activities and guiding the team in quality of developments.
