we are hiring a:

Project Finance Officer

(35 hours a week)

Day-to-day activities:

In this role, you are responsible for the financial and administrative management of projects within the International Programs department. You will control and advise on projects, from the phase of project design till the final reporting. You will make sure that project expenses are legitimate and compliant to internal and donor regulations. And you contribute to the quality and transparency of external reports such as the Annual Accounts and IATI.

As Project Finance Officer you are part of the Project Finance Team of Plan International Nederland, consisting of a total of 6 Project Finance Officers and a manager. You will work closely together in project teams, consisting of project developers and project managers. You will work for both development and humanitarian projects. This requires a flexible mindset in an ad-hoc dynamic working environment.

What will you do?

Financial Project Management:

• Support program managers in monitoring and analyzing the financial situation of ongoing programs and projects;
• Monitor the project liquidity and prepare fund transfers to partners and country offices;
• Prepare and control budgets for new project proposals in terms of compliance and cost recovery.

Advising, controlling and audits

:

• Prepare and supervise audits and financial statements for the purposes of internal control and for the auditor;
• Monitor compliance with contract and grant requirements, and advise the program manager how to ensure compliance.

The ideal candidate is someone who is able to work systematically and accurately in dynamic and changeable working environment. You have a hands-on mentality and you are decisive if the situation requires so. You are a positive-critical team player and at the same time able to work independently. You think along with the organization on both an operational and strategic analytical level.

In addition, you meet the following criteria:

• Relevant financial-economic education (at least Higher Professional Education) with 2-4 years of relevant work experience
• Experience with project administration in an international organization with different grant streams and donors
• Knowledge of risk management and donor compliance
• Knowledge of automated financial systems and project administration
• Knowledge of Office and especially good knowledge of Excel
• Excellent oral and written expression skills in Dutch and English
• Several years of relevant work experience in the NGO sector is a plus
• Desires to contribute to an organizational culture that promotes gender equality

An inspiring job in an international organisation with an inviting atmosphere. A fulltime workweek with us is 35 hours. These hours are usually flexible and could, for example, also be spread out over 4 working days. We work from home for about 50% of the time and the other 50% we spend in our office in de Baarsjes in Amsterdam. We also offer excellent employment benefits.

• A gross monthly salary of between € 3.300,- and € 4.300,- for 35 hours a week, depending on your background and experience;
