we are urgently looking for a full time Legal Counsel to support the team in the Netherlands, located in Rotterdam. You will work closely with your team members in London and Brussels, making this a dynamic role with an International scope. In this role you report to the Group General Counsel based in Rotterdam.

Ecorys Legal is responsible for risk mitigation by proactive identification and management of legal, regulatory and compliance risks in relation to corporate law, corporate governance and contracting.

What you will be doing

The Legal Counsel in Rotterdam will be working on a variety of legal matters, with strong focus on corporate law and governance in the broadest sense. In this position, you will add with your experience and working ethics to a solid company secretarial office, assist with compliance requirements and draft, coordinate, review and update a variety of legal documents. You will mainly be interacting with the businesses of Ecorys and have a visible working role with cross-functional teams across Ecorys. Finally, you will support the Group General Counsel in his role as Company Secretary with company secretarial duties.

What you will bring

We are looking for a structured, detail oriented candidate, with a high focus on quality and stakeholder management. If you are the perfect candidate you will have:

• Master’s in Law (WO) or Bachelor’s in Law (HBO)
• 3 - 5 years' Professional experience in a (para-)legal role in an international corporate environment or comparable level of expertise with the quality to perform (para-)legal work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch. Other language(s) is a plus.
• Tech savvy: experienced with online document/contract/legal entity management systems and high proficiency in Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Strong organisational talent (ability to effectively manage multiple task and priorities under pressure) while having attention to detail, high quality in your work and passion to deliver
• Excellent analytical skills, ability to problem solve and knowing when and how to escalate issues
• A pleasant, open and flexible personality, showing initiative and positive outlook
• Ability to develop successful working relationships across functions in a highly complex, high pace, multinational organisation
• Ability to work independently and as part of the team
• Eager to “learn on the job”
