On behalf of ESA, we are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Office Engineer to work in its Site (ESTEC) in the city of Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

Please note that this position is a fixed-term contract.

Tasks and Activities


The scope of work will include:
  • Design of electro-mechanical test instrumentation in coordination with colleagues of the Electronic Design Office.
  • Support to the maintenance and upgrade of the virtual testing facilities available in the section (e.g. Virtual share testing and Ray tracing optical model of the Large Space Simulator).
  • Understanding of IR measurements and hands-on capabilities in integrating and testing measurement systems
 
Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:
  • Master’s Degree or PhD in mechanical engineering, with at least 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven knowledge and familiarity with CATIA and NASTRAN-Patran.
  • Previous experience working on simulations or mechanical design for spacecraft design / testing.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
