ING Equity Capital Markets

Equity Capital Markets (ECM) is a joint venture between the Global Capital Markets (GCM) department and the Corporate Finance (CF) department of the Strategic Products Group within ING’s Wholesale Banking division, and advises companies on raising equity on international stock markets. Products covered by ECM include Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), follow-on equity issues and secondary offerings (rights issues or accelerated bookbuild offerings (ABBs)), capital return programmes including share buybacks, preference shares issuances and equity-linked transactions (convertible bonds). ECM, with support from FM Equity Markets, originates, structures and markets equity and equity-linked transactions to institutional investors (e.g. pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, hedge funds) and retail investors.

What can we offer?

As an ECM Analyst you will work in a dynamic, enthusiastic, and highly motivated team on challenging Equity Capital Market transactions for high profile clients, mainly in Europe. You will be supporting the team in originating, structuring and executing ECM transactions. You will be part of transaction teams on high profile European ECM transactions (examples include the recent rights issue by Fugro, JDE Peet’s IPO, Just Eat Takeaway capital increase, Randstad preference shares transaction, Prosus listing, etc. Key development opportunities offered with the position:

  • Transaction driven, dynamic and energetic environment
  • Steep learning curve
  • Learning about and tracking capital markets dynamics
  • Preparing presentations, financial modelling, conducting research on industries, sectors and companies
  • Maintaining close ties with the departments within and outside the Strategic Products Group
  • Affinity with key databases (Bloomberg, CapitalIQ, Factset, etc.)
  • Both soft and hard skills; and pro-active coaching through buddy system
  • Exposure within the organisation to a.o. Financial Markets, Capital Structuring & Advisory, Corporate Clients and Corporate Investments
  • Equity Capital Markets transactions are complex and demanding and joining our team will therefore give you a head start in your future career

Who are we looking for?

Suitable candidates have affinity with the equity markets, obtained their master’s degree and relevant internship experience, as well as a high energy level and performance motivation, strong attention to detail, good communication and interpersonal skills and affinity with finance and financial markets. Candidates are required to have fluency in business English and to be proficient in the Dutch language and are expected to reside in the Netherlands.
