Internship Product Development

Ojah is an ambitious production company that texturizes plant based proteins through ‘High Moisture Extrusion’. With this technology, Ojah produces the product called Plenti, which is almost indistinguishable from real meat because of the fleshy texture and unique bite. Only two ingredients are used during the production process, namely plant based protein and water. Ojah produces innovative, sustainable plant based protein products to maximise the transition from an animal to a more plant-based diet. With our products, we want to inspire people worldwide to choose more often for plant based proteins. We believe that this can only be achieved by working closely together with partners who know the local market and the consumer to the core.

Functieomschrijving

Assignment and key activities

During your internship you will work in the application team and you will be challenged to develop a new product on bases of our product ‘Plenti ProFiber’. You will:

• Scope literature for possible formulation and processing solutions
• Prepare lab samples for physico-chemical and sensorial analysis
• Perform analytical and sensorial tests
• Analyse the data and report the results
• Support the product developers/process technologists with lab, pilot and/or factory trials

The project details will be discussed during a first interview.

Requirements

• 4 - 6 months internship (full-time)
• Starting from Feb-Apr
• Food Technology/Chemistry Master student
• Fluency in English or Dutch, both written and verbal
• Knowledge on food structuring, ingredient functionality, enzymatic technology and fermentation is preferred
• You are familiar with lab/practical work and data analysis and capable to individually design and perform experiments
• You have an understanding of sensory analysis and reporting the results
