In our Engineering cluster, the software engineering department takes charge of developing combat and information management systems for navy ships. We specialize in seamless integration with sensor and weapon systems, along with the development of sensor processing applications. These sophisticated systems are utilized worldwide by chosen partners, driven by our belief that every individual deserves safety and protection. Our software serves as the backbone of these systems, crucial in critical situations where lives are at risk.

Within the software engineering department, particularly in the CMS (Combat Management System) infrastructure team, we seek talented Software Platform Engineers.

About the Role:
As a Software Platform Engineer, you'll collaborate within multidisciplinary Agile teams. These teams focus on developing and testing the infrastructure software platform(s) for combat management systems. From requirements analysis to product demonstration, our development teams oversee the entire development chain, ensuring seamless integration, testing, validation, and current product status demonstration.

Your role as a Software Platform Engineer will be dynamic, requiring flexibility. Operating via Scrum and DevOps methodologies, your tasks will vary based on the project and sprint you're involved in. This might entail Python programming one week and utilizing your network engineering skills the next.

You're a skilled engineer who thrives on specifying, developing, and testing IT/OT infrastructure components. You're dedicated to personal growth, both in technical proficiency and interpersonal abilities. Your relevant experiences include:

  • Extensive experience with Linux (minimum of 5 years).
  • Proficiency in software development languages such as Python, Bash, C, and C++.
Familiarity with a variety of tools and technologies, including:
  • Git,
  • CI/CD tooling,
  • Configuration tooling, preferably Ansible,
  • Container technology.
  • Familiarity with network technologies is preferred.
  • Experience in a scaled Agile environment is preferred.
You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT service management, or a related field. Crucially, flexibility and fluent communication in English are essential for this role.

Note: Hybrid work, requiring 2/3 days per week at the Thales office, is necessary.
