The role

Are you enthusiastic about working in a complex international environment? As Business Controller at Damen Global Support, you are going to be a member of the Control team. You will support the Division Damen Global Support, contribute and be accountable for strategic financial planning & monitoring and modeling like Forecast and Budget.

You will continuously improve, develop and drive business metrics and targets. Translate the financial data into useful management information and you will analyze the informationto drive the decision making process by getting the story clear behind the figures. You will be accountable for the management reporting and communications, performing analysis and leading initiatives that support the global strategic plans. 

Besides above there are a lot of areas in which you may have your contribution. You may think of Internal Control or implementing ESG reporting structure or where you do have your interest.

Your reporting line is to the Finance Director of Damen Global Support.

Key accountabilities

As a Business Controller your key accountabilities will be to:

• Coordinate, monitor and report on the budget, actuals and forecast process;
• Analyze and discuss the outcomes and identify the risks and opportunities;
• Drive optimization and improvement of processes, standardization of reporting and insight-driven analyses to satisfy the need for management information;
• Execute ad-hoc analyses and reporting;
• Monitoring the financial position of the Division and improve KPI’s to improve the performance;
• Be a bridge-builder among Damen Global Support , Division and Group.

Skills & experience

We are looking for a Business Financial Professional with proven track record in financial and business control/analytics at business unit, divisional or group level. Who is proactive with a hands-on mentality.

The candidate we are looking for has the following skills and qualifications:

• Master in Business, Economy and/or Accounting. (RA/RC will be an advantage);
• A driver of collaboration between business and finance;
• Affinity with Power BI;
• Knowledge of OneStream is a plus;
• Confident with operating in an environment of change;
• Eager and ambitious with the ability to go at least one level up;
• Solid personality with the ability to get things done:
• Pragmatic and solutions-oriented attitude;
• Strong team spirit with the ability to connect with people;
• Driven, energetic and positive-minded;
• Takes ownership, is accountable, delivers on promises;
• Business professional with 7+ year experience working with multiple stakeholders in a complex environment;
• Able to communicate at multiple levels in the organization;
• Fluent in English and Dutch.
