Hardware Lead Engineer
Who will lead the development of Embedded Control Systems at DAF Trucks
Within the Embedded Engineering department (part of DAF Product Development), we are searching for a Hardware Lead Engineer.
As Hardware Lead Engineer you will play a key role in the development of a new internal combustion engine (ICE) ECU platform for future DAF, Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks.

Your responsibilities

• Definition and management of hardware and base software requirements throughout the development cycle and after release to production
• Coordination of validation activities, support in defect analysis and resolution planning with appropriate stakeholders
• Creation of development deliverables (incl Design For Six Sigma) according DAF Product Creation Process (PCP)
• Initiate and define risk analysis and validation plans for both hardware and software components
• Prepare system documentation for release to Manufacturing and After Sales
• Alignment with all internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Software Team, Marketing, After Sales, Manufacturing , Purchasing and Supplier)

The hardware lead engineer reports to the Engineering Supervisor EE System Engineering with respect to process, quality and to the corresponding Project Lead Engineer for project status.

Functie-eisen

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor or a Master Degree in Automotive/Embedded Engineering or equivalent with at least 3 year experience in a coordinating role
• 3 years experience with Embedded System Development
• Experience with supplier management
• Team player, pro-active, strong analytical skills, problem solving attitude
• Knowledge of design for Six Sigma methodology
• Good English skills are mandatory combined with Dutch (or at least willingness to learn Dutch)

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

Contract through Yacht of at least 1 year, we follow the salary chart of DAF Trucks. For this position the salary range depends on highest earned degree and years of experience. The range is between € 3.400,- upto max € 4.940,- gross per month based on 36 hours a week (excluding holiday allowance of 8.33%). 37.5 hour work week.

Yacht also has benefits as a home office budget of € 750,- and annually a budget of € 3.500,- for following courses to further develop in your career.

You will be part of an experienced international team of the Platform Development group of DAF Embedded Engineering that is located in our modern new office in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Embedded Engineering has over 160 highly skilled people today. Together they deliver world class engineering in the domains of engine controllers and vehicle controllers.

Next to that, focusing on common software development, Embedded Engineering works closely together with PACCAR Embedded Engineering located in Renton (near Seattle), the USA.

The products developed within Embedded Engineering are applied on DAF trucks but also in the famous PACCAR brands Kenworth and Peterbilt. Through component sales our products are used by leading bus and coach manufacturers.
