Senior FPGA Design Engineer

The FPGA expertise is essential for critical businesses such as MRI, HPM, and IGT. Within ES&IoT, we uphold these skills at an expert level, providing support to businesses where maintaining this expertise internally is not practical. Due to ongoing attrition, we require a replacement to continue serving our businesses. We anticipate a sustained and increasing demand for these services, which are funded through customer-paid activities (PPU). This position is strategically significant and should be filled by a permanent employee or contractor who could potentially transition to permanent status later on. We are currently in the process of hiring for other positions (with 10 requests in the pipeline).

Assignment Summary:
At Philips Electronic Systems & IoT, a segment of Product and Systems Engineering within I&S, we are the trusted engineering solutions partner for all Philips clusters, businesses, functions, and markets. The FPGA group consists of highly experienced engineers who serve a diverse customer base within Philips by providing centrally managed standardized solutions. Our work spans FPGA designs in products ranging from IGT systems to MRI systems and patient monitoring devices.

To meet the ongoing demand from our customers, we are seeking an experienced FPGA Design Engineer to assist us in developing and delivering new solutions to our customers.

Your Responsibilities:
We are seeking enthusiastic FPGA Design Engineers who will work globally, harnessing the power and flexibility of FPGAs and SoC platforms to implement and connect signal processing in high-bandwidth streaming applications. In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive innovation and contribute to the development of cutting-edge healthcare products.

Your responsibilities include:

• Designing, implementing, and testing FPGA designs according to customer requirements.
• Participating in requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, and release processes.
• Ensuring that your designs adhere to specified quality standards.
• Developing a personal schedule and providing structured progress reports.
• Ensuring proper documentation for the developed designs.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, informatics, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in VHDL and/or Verilog coding.
• Proficiency in working with leading FPGA vendors and their associated tools.
• Demonstrated expertise in implementing high-speed designs and interfaces.
• Strong problem-solving abilities using system debugging and functional simulation test benches.
• Familiarity with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and regression test frameworks.
• Experience in writing specifications and design documentation.
• Proven success working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
