Smit Lamnalco currently has an opening for a:

Junior Business Controller

The Junior Business Controller is supports the Business Controllers with the Planning & Control cycle. She or e will analyse the consolidated financial and management reports, discuss the analysis with the relevant managers and advise them on potential improvements. She or he will report to the CFO. The position is based in Rotterdam.

Job-responsibilities:

• Manage the ‘day to day’ accounting in line with the company’s accounting framework for designated area’s.
• Contribute to the management of cash flows and working capital of contracts and assigned entities region, in cooperation with Treasury.
• Provide timely monthly management reports and conduct variation & trend analyses and reviews.
• Support the budget process and ensure a timely submission of budgets and forecasts reports to the Group.
• Support the business in strategy setting and execution and translate outcomes into annual plans/budgets.
• Review and assess financial terms and assumptions during tenders, contract extensions and - renewals.
• Contribute to the start-up of new contracts/entities.
• Implement and maintain applicable accounting, legal and tax structures and minimize liabilities.
• Monitor legal, tax and covenant's compliance and flag non-conformities.
• Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of Group internal control policies, procedures and (IT)systems & ensure compliance.
• Minimize financial risks/liabilities and advise on maximizing revenues for each contract.
• Manage statutory accounts (with support of internal/external auditors) and related tax-filings.

Proactively contribute to continuous process improvements and corporate projects.

Function Requirements

Who are we looking for?

• A master’s degree in finance. Preferably RC.
• 2- 3 years’ experience in similar role.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Fluency in Dutch and English.
• Analytical skills combined with business sense.
• Inspired by achieving goals.
• Into continuous developing of yourselves.
• Teamplayer with eye for people and data.
• Good in communication with all levels within the organization.
• Loves to work in an international environment and is open to occasional travel.
