Are you the C#.Net developer we’re looking for?

We are currently working on a system that is (theoretically) infinitely scalable, processes massive amounts of files as quickly as possible, supports our customers with smart tools and uses artificial intelligence to do some of the work.

This system replaces a Windows application that first saw the light of day 15 years ago and has since been used by police departments worldwide to analyze footage seized from child abuse suspects. The goal of the application is to get those suspects convicted, track down new perpetrators and identify victims in hopes of rescuing them from those terrible circumstances. In our opinion, it doesn’t get more socially relevant!

The pressure on investigators and, by extension, on our application is increasing. With the Internet and the ease with which information can be shared anonymously these days, our clients are faced with exponentially increasing amounts of seized material to review. A case with millions of images and videos is the rule rather than the exception. And some clients (unfortunately) have hundreds of cases pending at the same time. Perhaps to reassure you, the material our clients have to work with is quite intense in nature, but it’s not something you’re going to be exposed to.

While the current Windows application (built with C#) is scalable, it was never intended for the quantities that are increasingly at stake. So it squeaks and creaks a bit. So in 2022, we started innovating to a C#.net application in parts, with our customers’ hardware budget determining performance. It’s quite a task, where we could really use your help!

We are developing the new modules in C# based on the latest .NET framework for both Windows and Linux environments. For the frontend we use Blazor web assembly, among others, and in the backend: Docker, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, SQL server, MariaDB and Elasticsearch. Patterns we apply include DDD and CQRS.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a developer who has sufficient experience building (C#.net) applications for the web. You have a passion for efficient code, because every millisecond faster processing of a file saves hours of processing time for millions of images and videos!

Experience with Kubernetes is a very big plus as well as knowledge of Asp.net, Elasticsearch Docker, RabbitMQ, Blazor and Linux, among others.
We are an international company, both in customers and employees, so a sufficient command of the English language is desirable.
You function well in a team, but can also work independently. Having a healthy dose of humor fits in well with the rest of the team.

Where will you be stationed?

Within ZiuZ you will become part of the Scrum team ‘Fenoz’, which works very independently on product innovation. Our teams are multidisciplinary, with Developers, Testers and Research Engineers working together with the Product Manager and Architect to achieve optimal results. Processes are mutually determined by the team and is a constantly improving thing, where result is more important than how it is achieved. Central to this are:

• User Centric Design;
• Hexagonal architecture;
• Continuous integration;
• Test automation.
