Logistics Functional Application Specialist

A striking example is Zalando, based in Bleiswijk. Zalando is one of the biggest automated e-commerce distribution warehouses in the world, and about to go live!

As a Logistics FAS you will be operating in the heart of this highly advanced (both Logistical and Technical) green field environment. Operating from the Operations Control Tower, you will be the interface between all stakeholders involved, making sure fulfilment targets are hit day-to-day. You like to analyse issues (often IT software related) and taking a deep dive into the processes behind it, making sure that nothing gets lost in the middle!

Tasks

• You make sure the material handling solution of KNAPP works properly and meets expectations (KPI’s), by continuously monitoring and analysing the system function and the performance results.
• You lead and supervise trouble shooting procedures and speed up incident rectification, involving other specialists (f.e. KNAPP software developers) when needed.
• You support the process of defining and implementing change requests (ITIL), mainly in the WCS (Warehouse Control System) of KNAPP.
• You will become our local WCS specialist, linking input from the client’s WMS (Warehouse Management System) and daily operational KPI’s.
• You are closely involved in continuous improvement activities by collecting and analysing data and reporting operational management information, to enhance the daily operations and improve processes in a sustainable way.
• You cooperate tight with our KNAPP customer service desk and the technicians in the background.

 
Candidate

• Intellectual capacities on a bachelor level and technical education with focus on process analysis and improvements in relation to IT systems, such as Logistic engineering, ICT or Mechatronics.
• Basic knowledge in any kind of programming language (preferable C++), SQL (to read and understand code) and Linux.
• Work experience in a similar role, preferable in material handling or high-volume manufacturing. We also invite ambitious master and bachelor graduates to reflect.
• Spoken and written in English, ideally in Dutch and German as well.
• Excellent data and process analysis skills and interdisciplinary interest.
• A proactive approach to incident solution.
• High social competence (customer relations), also when dealing with issues under high operational pressure.
• Highly committed, reliable and sense of responsibility.
• Organisational skills, with the ability to work as part of a team as well as working independently.
• Willing to work in a two-shift pattern, also available on weekends.
