In Jordan, we support the development of a sustainable and competitive agriculture sector through an increasing number of programs and partnerships. Amongst others, we aim to improve the income opportunities and longer-term resilience of horticulture smallholder farmers, cooperatives, and SMEs in Jordan via tailor-made business development support. We also improve access to finance for SMEs and smallholder farmers by developing, piloting, and scaling financial products in close collaboration with the Agricultural Credit Cooperative and mobile money platforms. In addition, we will develop viable business cases to improve product and service provision to smallholder farmers and SMEs.

About the position of Business Development Coordinator in Jordan

To meet the increasing demand for our advisory services in the Middle East region, we are growing our consultancy team. The job of a Business Development Coordinator at Advance Consulting is quite diverse. You will acquire projects through client engagement and proposal writing. You can also expect to work on both long-term projects and short-term assignments for a varied range of international clients such as companies, public and civil society organizations, and governmental bodies. Some examples of assignments you may work on include:

• Project design and proposal development for agricultural and/or renewable energy projects.
• Business plan development and finance acquisition for agribusinesses aiming to start or expand operations to developing countries. 
• Carrying out market research, feasibility studies, and value chain analyses. 
• Financial due diligence and environmental and social sustainability assessments.
• Executing business process improvement trajectories for companies to improve their operations and management processes.
• Build and manage relationships with partners.
• Acquiring new projects and bringing in new clients.

About you

• A university degree in business administration, finance, (international) business, economics, or another relevant discipline. 
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Jordan or elsewhere in the Middle East.
• Experience or affinity with agriculture and/or renewable energy is preferred.
• Strong analytical and writing skills. 
• Exceptional spoken and written communication skills in English. Fluency in Arabic is a strong preference.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• A sense of humor and a positive outlook on life and teamwork.
