Product Development Engineer

What you will do

You will be a major part of the growth strategy by preparing and coordinating the up scaling of new and/or up-graded products within Operations. You assure consistency in product, process, and quality conditions and all relevant SHE conditions with respect to new and/or adapted products.

Requirements

Your key responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate production (in Emmen and/or R&T, external toll manufacturer) of new and/or changed products according to agreed conditions in PERM and in compliance with APQP guidelines:
• Represent Operations in development teams (e.g. PERM, PIT), together with i.e. Technical Marketing, R&T, Purchasing.
• Select (optimal) processing windows and all other relevant preconditions for new and/or adapted products, considering all Quality & SHE aspects.
• Set up advice to Manager Operations for transfer of product development to next phase.
• Scan and judge capabilities of toll manufacturers, secure confidentiality and anticipate to other cultures and systems (SHE and Quality); execute role of Tolling Process Engineer, as defined in Global Procedure GBL SCM - 8.5.01 Toll Production
• Identify, analyse, execute, and report improvements on products and processes and implement process changes via Process Development Request procedures (PSDR).
• Contribute to Safety studies (including RI&E’s, Hazop’s) in multidisciplinary teams, for all process installations and utilities in case new products are involved.
• Import APQP product development projects, for which plant adjustment are necessary, into Improve Plant process.
• Participate in validation programs at customers (on request).
• Interpret customer feedback of validation tests and communicate this to the Site Emmen to increase awareness of customer needs.
• Document, file, and communicate all relevant information on master data using available IT systems.
• Participate in Process Improvement Team, Compounding Team, Global Technology Team.
• Act as Improve Engineer when needed
• Will be part of project teams, and if appropriate act as project leader.
• Judge capabilities of the process and production lines regarding large diversity and interaction of production parameters, leading to multiple production possibilities and capability to produce.
• SHE responsibilities: Is responsible to work according to the determined Life Saving Rules

You bring

• Educational level BSc /MSc in Chemical Engineering or comparable
• Green Belt Lean / Six Sigma
• Knowledge of and experience in own discipline, the plant, process and equipment, the application of the products, work processes APQP, PMP, IP, Quality System ISO TS 16949, Recipes and raw materials, SHE/Risk assessment
• Required competences: Customer orientation, Collaboration with speed, Leadership, Result orientation, Judgment, Planning and Organizing skills, Analytical skills, Good communicational and social skills., Advisory skills.

Benefits

the salary package for this position is 96.451 Euro (C40). 25 holiday days, result remuneration and 6,11% of personal budget (My choice budget) to use for different benefits including buying extra holiday days. Also a profit sharing arrangement of maximum 9%.
