Senior Financial Accountant

Sunrock is continuously growing its business in Europe and developing new services like energy management systems, battery energy storage systems and by setting up its own Energy Trading desk.
Overview of the role
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be working on all accounting related matters within Sunrock. This could be the annual goodwill impairment trigger analysis, writing a position paper about how we account for our hedge instruments, ensuring our consolidation is accurate and complete, preparing periodic reporting to our shareholder or performing monthly loan and interest reconciliations. This is a role where you can eat your heart out with complex accounting matters, but also work hands-on together with the administrators and controllers to make sure we get things done.You will work closely together with other finance functions such as business control, administration, tax and another Senior financial accountant. You will report to the Head of Financial Accounting & Control. Within this team open communication, teamwork and having fun together is very important.

Key responsibilities:
- Preparation of the consolidation consisting of 50+ entities in 6 countries.
- Preparation of monthly management reporting and periodic group reporting under IFRS.
- Prepare accounting position papers incl. Dutch GAAP and IFRS accounting treatment of, for example, Derivates, Goodwill, IFRS 16, IFRS 15, new acquisitions, divestments, and capital structure changes.
- Compilation of financial statements in Dutch GAAP in Caseware software.
- Take a leading role in ESG and CSRD reporting.
- Play a key role in the implementation of a new ERP system, especially with respect to consolidation.
- Key contact person for the external audits and management of the audit information.
- Support with periodic closings and perform several monthly reconciliations and other treasury related matters.
- Maintain and update the Sunrock accounting manual
- Ensure efficient and accurate design of the financial administration and systems, such as monitoring the chart of accounts (COA) used within the group
- Ensure proper accounting treatment for new projects and business initiatives.
- Support local foreign finance teams (Germany, France, Poland) with accounting related matters.
This is you:
Of course you’re a self-starter and a problem solver, you are accurate, analytical and have a hands-one mentality. Additionally we expect:
- 5+ years working experience (audit & accounting) and familiair with Dutch GAAP and IFRS;
- Experience with consolidation and compiling financial statements, ideally you have experience doing this in a previous life at an accounting and advisory firm.
- Degree in Accounting and Control, Business Economics, or related (RA / ACCA);
- Advanced skills in Excel and you have experience (and enjoy!) working with large datasets, familiair with ERP systems and BI skills;
- You are a strong communicator and unafraid to take the lead and take our finance-related challenges to the next level.
