2 student-employees UnliMited-Students

Maastricht University - 20-04-2024 Naar vacature

UM's UnliMited-Students Network is looking for two enthusiastic and motivated students to support UnliMited in carrying out various tasks.
The UnliMited-Students Network was founded in spring 2021, for and by students with a visible and/or invisible disability, chronic condition or neurodivergence.

The network aims to increase the visibility and awareness, and increasing participation and inclusion of students with disabilities within the wider UM community and organises activities and events to this end. Furthermore, the network focuses on student life and sociability by bringing these students together. The #MoreThanMyDisability campaign on social media paints a picture of what the network stands for. UM's Diversity & Inclusivity office and Disability Support are closely involved in the UnliMited Network.

By signing the Declaration of Intent of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities for Higher Education Institutions in September 2020, the university is signalling that this issue is high on its agenda.

Structure of UnliMited-Students Network

The two student staff members will be working 6 hours a week. In addition to support and reinforcement, student-employees are responsible for ensuring the continuity of the network. The student network also consists of a team of volunteers: active members who are committed to UnliMited and are involved in various committees with tasks around external communication, membership recruitment, and the organisation of activities (e.g. hike). And then, of course, there are the general members for whom the network is intended. Students who join UnliMited find not only information and sociability, but also a listening ear and space to share stories. The two regular student members we are looking for are guided by the 'UnliMited Network Working Group'.
