Packaging Artwork Coordinator

AkzoNobel Decorative Paints brings colour into your life, with a wide range of products for decoration and protection, inside and out. The product range includes paints, lacquers and stains, as well as products for the pre-treatment (pre-deco) of wood and metal. Within the Central Artwork Management team, part of ISC Regional Commercialization Europe & Africa,
we have a vacancy for a Packaging Artwork Coordinator.
In this position you are responsible to lead and coordinate the packaging artwork process stream in projects. You’ll make sure all packaging labels and decorations are produced and delivered to our Markets on time, in full, with the right quality. All labels and decorations must run smoothly through our supply chain processes at lowest cost and complexity level.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and deliver major and complex packaging artwork related projects.
Support New Product Implementation (NPI) projects trough SAP code creation, master data management and pre-artwork meetings.
Lead the artwork production stream of packaging change projects and follow agreed time plan.
Responsibility for the quality, progress and timings of the artwork stream in your projects.
Communicate to stakeholders and ensure the project is delivered on time and in full.
First contact and packaging/artwork lead for one of the AkzoNobel filling sites.
Approve artworks on packaging specifications, content and quality.
Provide all packaging related information to complete the marketing packaging brief.
Know and follow the internal processes ensuring artwork is updated, working with marketing, supply chain and suppliers.
Support packaging decoration improvement projects & Central legislation projects.
Support and advise Marketing & our repro house in defining the best print & decoration for the pack regarding efficiency and quality.
Drive continuous improvement of the artwork management process.
First point of contact concerning artwork management challenges.
What do you bring?
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Packaging and/or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 3-5 year of relevant work experience in a similar position in artwork or packaging coordination.
Experiences in labelling processes and understands of the key processes & materials (plastics, metal, corrugated) and print techniques used by our packaging / label supplier.
Thorough understanding and technical knowledge of packaging decoration, repro and print techniques used by our packaging / label supplier, and the trouble shooting elements of the role.
The Packaging Artwork coordinator needs to be acknowledged as a technical expert in packaging decoration by both marketing and supply chain.
Strong project management skills and experience in digital workflow management applications.
The ability to drive multiple artwork projects and work towards a pragmatic and practical completion.
Structured way-of-working and good problem-solving skills.
Ability to measure and report the status and progress of projects.
Understanding of MDG/SAP and MS Office applications.
Strong knowledge and experience with Excel is a must.
Proactive team player with excellent communication skills.
Fluent in English (is company language), further language skills like French or Spanish is an advantage.
