Function description

This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious financial professional to grow further and to join the Global Financial Control team of Enza Zaden.
Your core function is to ensure the timeliness, quality and accuracy of both the process and the financial reporting output. As such, it is important that you can work with the utmost precision while demonstrating the flexibility necessary to handle the pressures that often arise at month-end. You will be joining a multinational organization that is committed to your personal and professional growth and development.

Your main responsibility is the consolidation of the operational and legal financial statements for Enza Zaden during each reporting period. This includes a number of related tasks such as providing instructions to the subsidiaries and preparing all required forms and reports for internal and external reporting.

It also involves helping to analyze the results and performing analytical reviews of financial trends, metrics and historical data.
You also assist in developing and maintaining the internal reporting templates and develop ad-hoc reporting tools. A further task is to assist with technical maintenance of the consolidation system and application, providing technical assistance and training to end users, where required.

You also support the global financial control team on topics as sustainability, internal control, specific projects and assignments on an ad hoc basis.

At all times you liaise actively with the finance community and (local) finance managers to o ensure compliance with the Enza Zaden accounting manual. You report to the Global Manager Financial Control and will be based in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands.

Function Requirements

• Execution of assigned parts of the global planning & control cycle (monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting), ensuring the numbers of various subsidiaries are being delivered timely and correctly. Approach international Finance colleagues when timelines are not met, numbers are not correct and solves issues that arise.
• Review / analysis of the numbers on accuracy, completeness and quality in order to ensure compliance with accounting standards. Responsible for follow-up on findings and defined actions aligned with the international finance teams.
• Responsible for the design, maintenance and roll out of assigned parts of the accounting manual to the international finance community.
• Responsible for trainings and communication to the international finance community on updated accounting regulations, internal control processes with respect to financial control, technical matters in the consolidation tool etc.
• Support the technical maintenance of the consolidation tool and ensure correct and timely updates.
• Support a smooth external audit.
• Act upon ad hoc requests to deliver information to internal or external stakeholders
• Support the global financial control team on topics as external audit, sustainability and internal control.
• At least 3-5 years’ of relevant experience in Finance, preferably at an audit firm or financial reporting function with preference for multinational experience;
• Bachelor or Master in Economics or Accounting and preference for Post Master Accounting (RA/RC) degree or study for it;
• Knowledge of accounting standard (Dutch Gaap and/or IFRS);
• Affinity with sustainability reporting, consolidation and internal control
• Experience with LucaNet or other consolidation tools is a plus
• Strong technical skills in terms of working with tools like Excel, Power Point and ERP software (D365).
• Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders at all different levels, backgrounds and cultures;
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Pro active, open, trustworthy team player and good communicator, continually search for improvements in terms of process and efficiency.
• Fluent in verbal and written English; proficient in Dutch is a plus.
