Investing pension money using innovative algorithms. Applying quantitative skills to balance risk, return and sustainability. Tackling big data issues. Do these topics get you excited and make you want to dive right in? Then the APG Quant Traineeship is something for you!

As a quant trainee, your opportunities within APG Asset Management are very broad. Asset Management is one of APG’s business units, focusing on the management of our clients’ investment portfolios. You will work with highly skilled quantitative teams of APG Asset Management. These teams operate in a variety of disciplines, such as portfolio management, risk management, trading, and asset-liability management. In each of these areas, econometric models and methods from machine learning are applied to advance APG as a long term responsible investor.

The traineeship involves three rotations of 8 months in different teams, in which you work on an assignment where the outcome can have a big impact. The first rotation is arranged for you and you can determine the remaining two for yourself based on your own interests. The majority of your time will be spent working on your assignment. Additionally, you will also focus on your personal development as this is one of the corner stones of the APG traineeships. Besides this, you will also work as a junior team member.

We have offices in four locations: Amsterdam, Heerlen, Hong Kong, and New York.

Profiel

• Master’s degree in Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, Data Science, Mathematics or an equivalent study, with outstanding study results;
• A maximum of two years’ work experience;
• Affinity for investing;
• Broad-ranging extra-curricular development (e.g. committee or board membership, volunteer work);
• Fluency in English;
• Advanced coding experience in e.g. Matlab, R or Python;
• Analytical, ambitious, eager to learn and result-oriented.

Aanbod

We will offer you a two-year contract with a € 3111 gross monthly salary (based on a 40-hour work week, excluding holiday pay and end-of-year bonus).
