De functie

Within Data & Analytics department (D&A) we need a strong center of excellence for data and data analytics, which are the driving force behind a data-driven culture, data governance & quality frameworks, our BI function and the close connection with IT on a future-proof data infrastructure

Schiphol is currently setting up an Data and Analytics Platform designed to accelerate the process of generating advanced insights for the organisation. The emphasis of this process is on control and quality assurance of the data that is made accessible. One key objective of the Data & Analytics Platform is to offer data services to all parties that impact the journey of both passengers and airlines.

What we need a Solution Architect to do

• Set up and maintain architecture models and architecture frameworks for the Data & Analytics Platform.
• Monitor the architectural principles of the enterprise and the domain in the development of solutions.
• Draw up architectural documentation
• Work as a team player with fellow architects, developers and engineers and translate business requirements into a solution that can be implemented immediately and fits the architectural frameworks
• Take care of data quality assurance in the Data & Analytics Platform
• Align the architecture of the Data & Analytics Platform with other data platforms, environments and initiatives within Schiphol Group
• Set out management and development guidelines for the Data & Analytics Platform

Jij bent

A Data Integration Solution Architect has at least 5 years of demonstrably relevant experience in developing and integrating architectures and advising development teams, line managers and senior managers, with a focus on AI and/or BI. A Data Integration Solution Architect possesses sound knowledge of both complex, data-intensive IT landscapes and business operations.

The Data Integration Solution Architect is experienced in agile software development and package selection. The ability to advise on the construction of new digital functionality based on experience is essential. Knowledge of technologies, platforms and solutions in the field of data is crucial. The emphasis in this role is on Big Data / Data Lake platforms in the cloud, Data Cataloguing, (Advanced) Analytics and full utilisation of these resources to provide data propositions and services.

In addition, the architect is knowledgeable about and experienced in the integral coherence of Azure, ADLS, Kafka, (Cloud) Data Warehousing and accessing event and machine data.

The following competencies are critical for achieving results: customer focus, ability to influence, analytical skills, innovative thinking, listening skills and result orientation.

Knowledge and expertise

• Minimum bachelor level
• Knowledge of data integration infrastructures, general IT infrastructures and cloud solutions
• Knowledge of Big Data techniques and tooling (visualisation, presentation, data management, collection and storage)
• Knowledge and experience of IoT platforms and solutions is an advantage
• Knowledge and experience of streaming platforms like Apache Kafka
• Knowledge and experience of distributed computing platforms like Spark, Flink
• Experience with Customer Data Platforms, CRM and OmniChannel systems
• Team player who also encourages collaboration in others
• Excellent communication, presentation and advisory skills
• Organisational sensitivity
• Creative in coming up with ideas and solutions
• Good spoken and written command of English and Dutch
• Familiarity with agile working methods
• Knowledge and experience is one or more of the following: data modelling techniques, data management, data governance and data science is recommended
• Knowledge of ArchiMate, UML and TOGAF is recommended
• In-depth business knowledge of logistics, commercial and/or real estate organisations is recommended
