Electrical & Electronics Engineer
SILICON designs, manufactures and installs stainless steel products, mainly for the petrochemical industry. In addition SILICON develops specialised welding equipment. Within this department we have a job opening for an all-round Electrical & Electronics Engineer, joining a team responsible for the electrical design of the welding equipment and its electrical components to ensure the equipment runs smoothly.
This is an multi-purpose role that also involves task coordination. Due to the international focus of the company it is vital that the successful applicant has a firm grasp of the English language.
Mission
As an Electrical and Electronics Engineer, you will specify, design, develop and qualify electrical infrastructure relating to the welding equipment.Tasks & Responsibilities
- Ensuring the electrical design remains optimal and implement improvements based on new requirements and/or new technologies available
- Drawing electrical schematics/wiring diagrams and technical drawings
- Implementing and documenting electrical design & changes, electronic specifications and reports and machine developmental history
- Identifying(potential) bottlenecks and problems and pro-actively working on improvements
- Equipment troubleshooting, fault finding and understanding and documenting failures;
- Ensuring safety regulations, industry standards and certifications are met
- Co-ordinating with the electronic research and developmental team in the UK
- Developing and maintaining test procedures for verification on components and assembly processes and providing instructions regarding this
- Supporting the shop floor regarding maintenance, usage and installation of electrical and electronic components
- Selecting electrical components based on cost and performance
- Supporting the purchasing of electrical components and communicating with suppliers regarding technical matters
- Acting as the first point of contact for technical questions from colleagues relating to electrical components
- Transferring knowledge and providing support to production, engineering and on-site supervisors
Education
You should possess a higher education working and thinking level (WO) with a technical background in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or similar.Experience
- Practical experience as electrical designer/developer or test engineer of electrical/electronic functions is preferred
- Broad technical knowledge of electrical and electronics with basic knowledge of physics, mechanics and software.
