Enza Zaden is a vegetable breeding company that develops vegetable varieties. We produce and sell the seeds of these varieties all over the world. Both for conventional and organic growers. In order to explain this properly (and as briefly as possible) we have made an animation. For more than 80 years we are working with the best that nature offers. We support this with state-of-the-art technologies to speed up our breeding process. That is really necessary, because currently the development of a new vegetable variety takes up 6 to 10 years. The results? Strong, healthy, tasty and climate-proof vegetable varieties with higher yield per square meter and less need of crop protection products or fertilizer. Our strength? Function description

Pepper breeding takes time and effort. As an assistant you will be responsible for this facility and manage the rapid seed to seed cycling. Your duties include; crop care (sowing, transplanting, pollination, harvesting, etc.), crop planning and collaborating with the breeders, but focused on seed production, seed stock management, sowing preparation, among other tasks. Additionally, you will execute and evaluate experiments to optimize and improve the cultivation protocols and the functioning of the greenhouse. You will work in an international team, within different disciplines; breeding, pathology, etc, under the supervision of a senior breeder

Function Requirements

Your power You are an enthusiastic and creative entrepreneur with a long-term vision on breeding with excellent analytical and communication skills. Highly passionate in plant crops and experienced in this topic. Additionally, you are not afraid to make decisions and you function well in an international team.

Requirements:
University degree in plant science or related fields of study
Highly valuated practical work experience in growing and working with plants and assessing trials is preferred Good organizational skills
Flexible & able to adapt to changes
Fluent in English & Spanish
