Job content

Joining the Carrot breeding team you will be jointly responsible for setting up and implementing the breeding programs in the Netherlands and abroad. Your main activities as breeder are to organize and evaluate trials and execute crossing programs with selected material. You are able to analyse obtained research results and implement them in the breeding programs. The main goal is continuous development and improvement of our product. You will work closely with the researchers of our Research Centre, where they use innovative breeding techniques, such as MARB and genomic selection.

Job Requirements

• Master degree in plant science, preferably plant breeding or bachelor plant breeding with relevant experience
• Well aware of the latest breeding techniques in the field of phytopathology, cell biology and molecular biology
• You like to operate in a result- and market-oriented way, developing a long-term strategy
• You are innovative and creative with an aim for a practical approach
• Good communication skills in both English as Dutch or willing to obtain
