Rig manager

has the crucial role of being a line manager responsible for making decisions that ensure the safe and efficient operation of the unit under their supervision. They must also stay within the budget and contractual agreements. Moreover, they assist the Operations Manager with daily activities.

As the unit’s daily onshore representative, the Rig Manager is the link between all onshore and offshore stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and various company departments. They primarily work in an office but also visit offshore and on-site locations as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and act accordingly.
• Carry out all assigned work in line with the Operations Manager’s instructions.
• Foster and sustain effective working relationships with client personnel to boost operational efficiency and open up new business avenues.
• Contribute technical knowledge and business opportunities to the organization.
• Advocate for and maintain awareness of efficient waste segregation, spillage prevention, and reduction of energy and material waste, as well as air emissions.
• Exhibit clear safety leadership, setting high standards for quality, health, safety, and environmental consciousness to avert incidents.
• Engage proactively in emergency response.
• Oversee and manage all safety-related aspects of the unit and its personnel.
• Ensure that projects are managed safely, within budget, and in alignment with the company’s management system.
• Motivate staff to engage in the continuous enhancement of the company’s performance.
• Refine plans, policies, methods, standards, and procedures for the unit’s technical operations in collaboration with the operations manager.
• Monitor the safety elements of the unit’s operations, ensuring sufficient resources and shore base support when necessary.

Your Qualifications:

• Degree in ship engineering or an equivalent certificate.
• A minimum of five years of operational experience in offshore or oil and gas projects.
• Three years of experience at the engineering level.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
• Fluent in English, both in writing and speaking.
• Familiar with class, statutory, and local regulations, including safety cases, performance standards, written schemes of verification, and offshore/maritime legislation.
