About the role
As the Senior / Lead UX designer you are part of the product development team, delivering a crucial contribution to the development of the Open.DC SaaS platform. We aim to develop our product with the utmost focus on usability, stability, and scalability – with UX playing a key role. As we scale up, onboard more users, and add new features to the platform, usability is fundamental to our success. The senior / lead UX designer will play a crucial role in understanding how users should navigate the platform seamlessly and fluidly.
In your role you will be talking to users to understand, design, validate and test new features, as well as improve existing ones. The platform involves multiple user groups, with a key UX challenge of making the platform suitable for each of them without compromise.

Role requirements
User Research – Any new feature implementation begins with valuable user insight. The UX team will build relationships across WPP to understand how our platform should work, making user-informed design decisions.
User Flow – It is critically important that features added to the platform are both functional and usable, delivering a positive experience for users. Before any designs are finalized, the UX team will create user flow diagrams to communicate with stakeholders and the product team.
Wire Framing, prototyping & mock-ups - The UX team will produce multiple designs, from the initial wireframes, through to a functional prototype to help the product and engineering team understand the decisions that have been made. Final visual mock-ups will also be required to communicate ‘look and feel’.
Agile Software Development – The UX lead will work as part of a broader product and engineering team, so experience in such an environment will be very beneficial.
The behaviours we are looking for
Leadership – As a senior / lead designer, you will be responsible for making decisions for the UX / UI of the platform, from the processes we follow to the tools that we use.
Communication – As a UX designer, it is your responsibility to interpret what users require, translating this to engineers for implementation. Being able to communicate the design decisions you’ve made will be important to your success in this role.
Collaboration – it takes a dedicated, cross-functional team to deliver exceptional products. The senior / lead UX designer will be a strong collaborator, able to work closely with users, the product team and engineering teams, participating in meaningful conversations.
Additional Skills
- Strong UI design skills
- HTML / CSS desired
- Previous advertising industry experience advantageous
