Your role

You act as the lead in and will be responsible for strategic portfolio management of the Preforma product line in a transforming market. You will identify customer needs and the larger business objectives of the Preforma product line. You are accountable for optimizing business critical interfaces across the entire product life cycle within the company and customers. You work closely together with the other Product Managers as well with the Sales teams, Production, Supply Chain and the Product Innovation department. You report directly to the Global Solution Support Manager.

A good understanding of the horticultural sector is important to be successful.

Tasks and key responsibilities:

• Align lifecycle portfolio management with the market needs; meeting customer demands with successful product introductions. Identify new market segments;
• Develop and maintain market competitive databases with regards to products, customers, and pricing to identify; opportunities for product innovation, new market penetration and market share growth;
• Conduct comprehensive market price analysis to define a value-based and order volume tariff structure for margin improvement;
• Improve efficiency by streamlining the portfolio focusing on Customer Service and proactive communication with colleagues;
• Ensuring sustainability is for Jiffy top of mind in all product offerings;
• Provide accurate forecasting and product availability information to the salesteam aligned with supply chain and production;
• Participate in negotiations with major key accounts and support Sales team ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction;
• Deliver relevant product information proactively and upon request for timely delivery of reliable product marketing information; Facilitate product knowledge trainings;
• Identify and share market trends that support increased production efficiency and quality;
• Analyze and evaluate projects regarding new production methods, materials, packaging and additives;
• Participate in relevant trade shows and (demonstration) trials.

What do we expect from you

Education and Experience:

• BSc / Msc in Horticulture or in a related Plant Science degree;
• Experience in commercial horticulture and specialty agriculture markets and willingness to learn global markets related to the Jiffy product portfolio;
• Experience with product introduction and life cycle management methods is preferred combined with strong marketing skills;
• Experience with planning and cross functional workflow tools;
• Willingness to travel (25%) and being fluent in English.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Excellent project management skills with the desire to produce the highest quality products and introduce successfully into the horticultural and agricultural market;
• Ability to think strategically but with hands on style and strong emphasis on day-to-day work and tactical implementation;
• Strong team building skills and ability to draw on internal and external resources for success;
• Good communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills, including the ability to build effective working relationships, to facilitate cross functional collaboration, to influence internal stakeholders to action and to collaborate efficiently with key customers;
• Determined to achieve results and a passion to succeed;
• Financial, analytical and strong problem solving skills.
