Project Developer

While having wide experience in the energy sector, this organization focuses primarily on developing and initiating sustainable energy projects in underdeveloped countries. Profile

As a project developer, you will be involved in the entire process of the project and report directly to the Managing Directors. It is your goal to originate new sustainable energy projects and expand existing ones. Furthermore, leading the development of renewable energy initiatives, including site identification, and leading construction execution, falls under your core responsibility.

This position requires a combination of technical knowledge, project management skills and commitment to sustainability.

Core responsibilities include:
Identifying potential sites for our sustainable energy project.
Conducting feasibility studies to assess the technical and financial viability.
Guiding the process pertaining necessary permits and ensuring compliance with all local regulations.
Collaborating with local communities, landowners, government officials, and stakeholders to build support for the project.
Develop detailed financial models to evaluate the economic viability of projects.
Negotiate contracts for land agreements, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and construction contracts.
Manage project development, ensuring timely and budget-friendly progress. Coordinate with engineers, construction managers, and team members for construction execution.

Stay updated on market trends, regulations, and sustainable technology advancements to identify new project opportunities and strategies.

Requirements

You have completed a minimum of a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field
Understanding of sustainable energy technology, and the regulatory environment
You have the ability to engage in multiple projects and have relevant experience in project management.
Skilled in financial modeling, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong representational and negotiation skills are essential to effectively
collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Proficient with the Microsoft Office package.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch (additional languages such as Papiamentu and Spanish are a plus)
Willingness to travel
