The position

As chemical engineer, you will contribute to the Envalior polycondensation processes/product lines by being active in plant support, plant improvement, product developments, and maintaining the competence. Leading complex project and working closely with Principle Scientists, Plant Engineers and lab technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Being the main contact between plant staff and R&D for the assigned product lines/plants
• Contribute to projects by defining the integrated project plan for the process technology discipline, by searching the right input, by supervising and monitoring the experimental work on lab and/or pilot scale, by executing R&D activities as defined in the project plan and by identifying (potential) bottlenecks.
• Ensure the effective and efficient execution of the assigned R&D activities, the engagement of the assigned project members, report the execution of the assigned R&D activities and let results be registered and/or implemented.
• Ensure the right level of expertise/knowledge is maintained and developed by connecting with experts internally and external parties.
• Be aware of and act on opportunities or threats in IP.
• Comply with SHEQ requirements and instructions.

The Ideal

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a closely related field.
• Affinity with polymerization/polycondensation process technology is not essential but nice to have.
• Experience in chemical/process engineering in an R&D environment.
• Proven experience of leading/contributing to projects, providing plant support, knowledge maintenance and providing support to other functions (IP, Quality, Supply Chain etc.)
• The position will require developing strong connections with people from many internal functions. Fluent communication in English (speech and writing)
