Frontend Engineer

Our day-to-day business at Rabobank Online is reinventing the way customers interact with their bank. Around 5 million customers in the Netherlands use Rabobank’s mobile banking services and many more people visit our website. A large number of our private customers uses the Rabobank app to check their financial status on a daily basis. Our channels are a stepping stone towards creating a personalised environment that revolves around the customer on a multitude of devices.

To stay a good app for your customers we need to continuously improve the customer experience. We will setup a new team that will define, build and help other teams with a seamless experience for the customer.

Your role: We are looking for an experienced frontend engineer for a new team in our area Consumer Banking. The purpose of the team is to define and build a smooth customer journey between the banking features and increase navigation quality. As a team we also need to increase and measure the quality of other feature teams so that we offer a seamless experience all over the app.

In this role we not only expect you to show us your best coding skills, but also to have an eye for overall quality including the operations responsibility of the team (all team members are stand by on rotation basis) and work together with the other developers and other key stakeholders (e.g. architects, UX designers, analysts) to stand for the overall quality of the products and services we deliver. Next to your own team we expect you to help other teams with their journey.

We are a new team and we want to setup up this new team together with you
We often sit together to tackle interesting problems.
The Rabo app is built and kept up-to-date with the latest Angular version, as a hybrid desktop/mobile application based on Ionic.
For the frontend, we work in a monorepo environment and make use of our own internal framework, UI components system and fully automated CI/CD pipeline with 24/7 production deployments.

We use TDD when it makes sense, and we strive not for 100% test coverage but for confidence in our code and on quality for the end-user.
We work mostly from home but as we need to become a real team we want to work at least once or twice a week in the same place and come together for social events

Dutch language is a plus. English a requirement.
